Tours & Trails

Check out the different tours and trails we have in the Hickory Metro! If you are looking for hiking and biking trails, let us direct you to our Outdoor Aventures Page. If you are looking for something a little less strenuous, such as our ale trail or selfie walk, you are in the right place!

Beverage Tours:

Catawba Valley Ale TrailCatawba Valley Ale Trail - is a collection of 13 breweries in the Hickory Metro! These breweries focus on the section of the river at Old Fort, where the river forms, to Lake Hickory. Each segment seems to have a different culture based on the surrounding landscape. Their delicious and creative beer makes visitors want to come back for more. We are so lucky to have these breweries in our region and hope you discover new, creative beverages while enjoying the atmosphere of the Catawba River Valley Region. Grab your Ale Trail Passport for a good old time!

Kilty Pleasure Tours - offers transportation for several different tour packages. They allow you to visit a variety of bars and wineries in the area… and the tours are different each time as you get to choose your destinations! For the BAR TOURS, you choose a bar you want to visit in each of the three locations the van takes you (Morganton, Hickory, and Newton). For the WINERY TOUR, the wineries you visit will vary based on the day you book your tour (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday).

Art Tours:

Downtown Hickory Selfie Walk - As you stroll around our beautiful Downtown Hickory look for all our favorite local artworks and take a selfie! Make sure to tag Downtown Hickory on social media and use the #hickory&me. We can’t wait to see your Downtown Selfies, and share them!
