Hickory-Conover Tourism Development Authority

The Hickory-Conover Tourism Development Authority (HCTDA) is the overseeing board for the Hickory Metro Convention Center & Visitors Bureau.

Board Members: Chairman Bruce Eckard, Lindsay Keisler, Kimberly George, Treasurer Renee Keever, Mark Seaman, Warren Wood, Tom Hart, and Counsel Terry Taylor. 

The nine members of the HCTDA include the Hickory City Manager, Conover City Manager, Catawba County Chamber of Commerce President, three Hickory City Council appointees (two are with overnight accommodations), two Conover City Council appointees (one is with overnight accommodations), and one appointee from the Catawba County Chamber of Commerce who has an interest in tourism. In addition, the HCTDA has an appointed attorney and hires the CEO who oversees the Hickory Metro Convention Center and Visitors Bureau staff.  

The mission of the HCTDA is to market and enhance the economy of the Hickory Metro by promoting conventions, meetings, and travelers to the area. The HCTDA holds its regular meeting on the second Monday of the month at 8:30 a.m. (no meeting in July) in the Catawba River Board Room at the Hickory Metro Convention Center.
