Parks & Trails
With over 50 parks and trails in Catawba County and the Hickory Metro, outdoor adventures are endless!
A highlight of our trail system is the Hickory Trail, which spans just over 10 miles of pedestrian-friendly walking and biking paths throughout Hickory, NC. The trail winds through Downtown Hickory, past local artwork, and along the scenic, tree-lined shores of Lake Hickory. The terrain of the Hickory Trail changes from railroad to sidewalk to boardwalk. Smaller sections of the trail, like the City Walk with stunning views of downtown, the OLLE Art Walk featuring local artist installations, and the Historic Ridgeview Walk, offer an immersive experience in Hickory's culture and history.
