The Newton Recreation Department has something for the entire family! A Splash Pad that features a dump bucket, water geysers and hoop sprayers. There is a stream for toddlers, which will be the first of its kind in Catawba County. The floor of the pad is a slip-resistant rubber padding. The area around the splash pad has eight, 6-foot benches and a shaded area. The shaded area will cover four picnic tables, one of which is ADA approved.
The center is equipped with an outdoor swimming pool, a regulation-size gym, concession area, fitness room, offices and classrooms for various rentals, instructional classes and meetings, indoor walking, athletics, tournaments and special events.
The Splash Pad and swimming pool are open seasonally. Call the recreation department for dates and times.
