The Town of Catawba dedicated its first Town Park to the memory of David A. Hunsucker. Mr. Hunsucker was very involved in the community, including serving as Town Clerk and Treasurer for a number of years. He also served on the planning board. Mr. Hunsucker was a long-time leader in the community and advocate for recreational opportunities in the Town. The Town received a $47,000 grant from the Parks and Recreation Trust Fund to make improvements to the park. Improvements included new restrooms, a walking trail, and playground equipment. Picnic shelters, a volleyball court and horseshoe pits. The park is located at 101 3rd Street NE in Catawba. Please contact Town Hall for reservations or more details. Fees are as follows: Deposit for reservation/use of park facilities: $20.00 Deposit for volleyball: $20.00 Deposit for 2 sets of horseshoes: $20.00 Non-citizens/organizations outside the town limits are charged a fee to reserve park facilities. This fee is $25.00. There is no charge for reservation of park facilities for town residents. Note: There is no charge for use of park facilities if a reservation is not made.
