One of Downtown Hickory’s newest restaurants, Main Chick Jammin’ Biscuits, officially opened its doors on Tuesday, July 30th. With an enticing menu and a vibrant atmosphere, this restaurant promises a delightful dining experience for all. We got to try out some of the menu items, and here’s what we thought.
When you step inside, you’re greeted by a beautiful mural spelling out the name of the restaurant in various bright colors. The vivid colors and lively decor create an inviting and welcoming ambiance, instantly making you feel at home. Another eye-catching logo mural on the floor adds a unique touch, seamlessly tying the space together.
Head up to the counter to place your order and choose from a variety of delicious items. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty biscuit sandwich, a sweet waffle sandwich, or a classic breakfast platter, Main Chick Jammin’ Biscuits has you covered. Coffee lovers will be thrilled with the extensive selection of beverages, ranging from rich lattes to robust drip coffee. We tried a salted caramel iced latte and traditional drip coffee, both of which were delicious. And we cannot leave out their freshly squeezed orange juice on tap!
To start, we ordered the Bubba Loaded Tots, which were covered in pimento cheese, crispy bacon, and pepper jelly. Each bite was a perfect balance of textures and flavors, with the tots fried to perfection.
We also tried the Hot Chick biscuit, which had a delicious combination of Nashville hot honey, pimento cheese, chow chow, and pickles. This biscuit had the perfect mix of heat and sweetness, and the pimento cheese was a great touch. We couldn't resist trying the classic sausage, egg, and cheddar cheese biscuit, made with fresh, in-house sausage. Don’t miss out on the delicious homemade jellies, which pair perfectly with any menu item.
Lastly, If you're stopping in closer to lunchtime and looking for something on the "lighter side," try the fried chicken salad with the buffalo vinegarette dressing.
For those with a sweet tooth, the waffle sandwich "Wammys" and biscuit dough "Bonuts" are not to be missed.
There truly is something for everyone at this restaurant, making it a must-visit in Hickory. Whether you're in the mood for a savory breakfast or something sweet, you'll leave satisfied. Stop by and see for yourself why this new restaurant is already a local favorite.
